    Mental Commitments-Chapter 51.20
    Petitions must be signed by three adults, at least one of whom must have personal knowledge of the facts and circumstances that will support a petition for commitment. All three petitioners must be willing to testify at a minimum of two court hearings and to come to this office to sign the petition before a notary.

    Alcohol Commitments-Chapter 51.45
    Alcohol and drug dependence/abuse petitions must be screened and approved by the Waukesha County Health and Human Services Department, Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Addiction Unit. Please call (262) 548-7672 for a pre-screening prior to calling this office.

    Note: Statutes give us the discretion to determine if a petition will be filed. Making an appointment does not guarantee filing.
