Outdoor Classroom: Citizen Science (Snakes)

Join us as we learn about snakes that call the Retzer prairies home. We’ll explore their habitat and investigate the snake boards at Retzer used to collect snake population data. We may meet some wild snakes and we’ll definitely meet Retzer’s animal ambassador snakes.

$4 per student (free for adults and young siblings under age 3) Limited to 20-25 paid program attendees.
Ages: Elementary students
Register at least one day (24 hrs.) prior to program (no walk-ins)
Families, caregivers, home school groups, scout troops, 4-H and more… supplement your learner’s virtual education experience with an environmental education program at Retzer Nature Center. Each program is 60 minutes in duration. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Programs will be conducted completely outdoors, so dress for the weather. In case of inclement weather, program will be moved to an openly ventilated location. Face masks will be required indoors and when social distancing cannot be properly maintained outdoors.
