Waukesha County

Wetland Monitoring Orientation

Where: Retzer Nature Center

From: 2/16/2019 9:00:00 AM To: 2/16/2019 11:00:00 AM

Did you know that over 75% of Wisconsin’s wildlife species rely on wetlands at one point in their life cycle? Once you are properly trained you can strap on some hip waders and help our staff look for and document the presence and distribution of sensitive wetland wildlife populations such as salamanders, frogs, toads, crayfish and fairy shrimp. All equipment will be provided.

Orientation is recommended for ages 8+. Children of all ages can participate in monitoring with parental guidance.

Attendance at a volunteer orientation and field training is required to participate in the program.
