Adult Day Centers
Adult Day Center services include supervision, personal care, medication, therapies, and peer socialization for older adults in a group setting. Services are provided for part of a day for adults who need assistance with daily living activities, supervision, protection, and/or an enriched social experience. Adult Day Centers provide a service option for older adults and help caregivers (such as spouses, children, or other relatives) maintain the individual in an independent or semi-independent living arrangement. The day centers provide an opportunity for:
- Receiving a whirlpool bath (available at some of the centers)
- Discussing current events with your peers
- Participating in activities
- Going on field trips
- Exercise
- Socialization
In addition, the caregiver receives respite, support, information and referral, and assistance with care of the older adult.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Waukesha County (ADRC) currently has contracted services available at two Adult Day Centers. To receive financial assistance, day center attendance must be preauthorized by the ADRC. If you think you might need financial assistance to attend a day center please call the ADRC (262) 548-7848.
