    The UW-Extension, in Waukesha County, has provided support to the Waukesha County Nutrition Coalition (WCNC) since 1994. The coalition works to increase food security and eliminate hunger by providing education, increasing hunger awareness, engaging in projects, and building partner networks.     Mission Statement: “Provide temporary housing and basic necessities (shelter, food, clothing and related services) to individual and families experiencing homelessness.”

    Vision: “Eliminate the need for emergency shelters.”

    The Hebron House of Hospitality consists of 3 homes (Hebron, Siena and Jeremy) that are used as men, women and children shelter for those that find themselves homeless. While staying in a home, guests have warm meals, beds, showers, and laundry areas available to them, and are also offered help with finding work, permanent homes and other necessities.

    How does your organization fit in with coalition’s mission: to help reduce hunger and food insecurities in Waukesha Co.?

    • Working together to reach out to struggling populations and make sure food is always available for people
    • Able to receive food from other organizations for the people in the house

    What is the greatest achievement you have had/ seen within the coalition?

    • Know the assets of other organizations and increase networking possibilities
