  • Blessings in a Backpack

    Est. in Hatfield, WI: 2012
    Mission Statement: “Blessings in a Backpack provides food for elementary school children across America who may otherwise have little or no food to eat on weekends during the school year.” 
    Vision: “Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health, and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of this program.”  
    Blessing in a Backpack is a nationwide organization that is committed to getting children food that would otherwise not have any. They were chosen as People Magazine’s 2012 charity of the year. The Hatfield branch started with 1 school and 25 students, and has now grown to 3 schools and is feeding about 590 students.
