If your tax bill qualifies and if you choose to pay your taxes in installments, then you must pay each installment by the due date or the TOTAL amount of your remaining unpaid taxes, special assessments and special charges (if any) will be delinquent as outlined in Wisc Statutes 74.11 and 74.12.
ALL delinquent taxes are subject to interest and penalty of 1 ½% per month, retroactive to February 1st, until paid.
Per Wisc Statute 74.69(1), a payment will be considered timely if it is mailed in a properly addressed envelope, postmarked before midnight of the last day prescribed for making the payment, with postage prepaid, and is received by the Treasurer’s office not more than 5 business days after the prescribed date for making payment. Exception would be for delay or administrative error of the U.S. postal service as determined by Waukesha County Board committee.
Tax Payment Options The Treasurer’s office accepts tax payments via cashier’s check, money order, personal check or cash. The Treasurer’s office maintains the right to request guaranteed funds. All payments must be made in United States Funds only.
Do not send cash in the mail.
