Part-Time Psychiatrist Position

The Waukesha County (WI) Department of Health and Human Services is recruiting a half-time staff psychiatrist to work in our outpatient service. The position is supported by a professional multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, clinical therapists and substance abuse counselors. The Clinical Services Division serves a wide variety of age groups and diagnostic categories and has several specialty treatment services including a 28 bed adult inpatient unit, intensive outpatient programs for substance abuse, mental health services for children and families, community based supports, and medication assistance for clients unable to afford their prescriptions. Additionally, Waukesha County is recognized for its collaborative programs such as the alcohol treatment court and drug treatment court. The staff psychiatrist participates in activities of the medical staff and in the systematic planning and review of health services of the department. The successful candidate will be experienced in general adult and substance abuse treatment; experience in treatment of children and adolescents is desirable but not required.


Educational requirements are possession of a degree from a recognized medical school; completion of an approved internship; completion of three years of approved residency training in psychiatry and possession of or eligibility to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin. Board certification in psychiatry or eligibility required.


The Salary Range for the Psychiatrist position is $87.04 - $100.90 per hour
