What is an Elder Benefit Specialist?
An Elder Benefit Specialist (EBS) is a Medicare SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) Counselor and an advocate for person’s age 60 years or older who may be having problems with their private or government benefits. The benefit specialist helps older adults determine the benefits they are entitled to and how to apply for them. An attorney is available to provide supervision and support to the Elder Benefit Specialist.
