2020 Census in Waukesha County

By the middle of March, residents around the Country will begin receiving invitations to participate in the 2020 Census. As you may know, the Census Bureau administers the census to all residents of the United States every ten years. I would like to strongly encourage you and your entire household to participate in this very important part of our Country’s history and record-keeping process.

If you are unfamiliar with the importance of the census, an accurate census count will aid in economic forecasting and business development in our neighborhoods, fair congressional representation of our communities and adequate public safety insight for our thriving region. If you have had the opportunity to participate in a United States Census before, the 2020 Census will be easier than ever, as you will have the option to complete the survey online, over the phone or via the mail. When participating in the 2020 Census Survey, your answers are kept strictly confidential at all times.

In order to ensure that our historically undercounted populations are reached during the 2020 Census effort, Waukesha County has partnered with local municipal partners, businesses and non-profit organizations to see that our communities are counted as accurately as possible during the 2020 Census effort.
