eCourts system enhancements

On March 3, 2014, Wisconsin eCourts account system was enhanced, providing improved account features and new tools for attorneys who use electronic filing. Following are two significant additions to make note of.

Designate your mailing address with circuit courts statewide
eCourts provides a mailing address section where attorneys can update and maintain their mailing address(es) with the circuit courts. One address can be added for all courts or addresses can be specific to an individual county. Attorneys should utilizethis new feature for all address changes with the circuit courts and should not contact the clerk of circuit court office to make changes. Account information can be updated by following the Update account information link on any eCourts log in screen.

New delegation tool for electronically filed circuit court cases
The circuit court eFiling site now includes a delegation feature for attorneys to provide paralegals, legal secretaries and other support staff with access to their electronically filed cases. There are two types of delegation: 1) prepare and view and 2) case view.

Granting prepare and view delegation rights to an individual will allow that user to:

  1. Create filings and documents to be routed to you for signature and submission.
  2. View case documents.
  3. Receive e-mail notifications from the court for all of your eFiled cases.

Case view access grants view rights for a specified case. It will allow the user to:

  1. View case documents for the specified case.
  2. Receive e-mail notifications from the court for the specified case.

Case view rights can also be used to provide view access to a litigant on a case.

To use this new delegation feature, paralegals/legal secretaries must create an eCourts account. To grant these rights, follow the delegation link in the right-side navigation of the circuit court eFiling site.
