    Celebrate Arbor Day by planting a tree seedling in a Waukesha County Park


    Help Waukesha County Park System plant 1,000 tree seedlings to celebrate Arbor Day.  Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to noon you can help reforest a county park in your community.  The entrance fee will be waived for those participating in this event.

    Bring your family, friends or scout groups to your favorite County park, and come back to watch it grow. Limited quantities of tree seedlings are available.  The select County Park locations are as follows:

    • Fox Brook Park, 2925 North Barker Road, Brookfield
    • Fox River Park, W264S4500 River Road, Waukesha
    • Menomonee Park, W220 N7884 Townline Road, Menomonee Falls
    • Minooka Park, 1927 E. Sunset Drive, Waukesha
    • Mukwonago Park, County Hwy LO, Mukwonago
    • Naga-Waukee Park, 651 State Hwy 83, Hartland
    • Nashotah Park, W330N5113 County Hwy C, Nashotah
    • Retzer Nature Center, S14W28167 Madison St., Waukesha 

    A rain date of Sunday, May 1 has been established in case of severe weather. We will not cancel due to rain.  Those who pre-register will be notified by e-mail if the event is cancelled.  Others can check our website or follow us on twitter for up-to-date information.

    Arbor Day is an annual observance that celebrates the role of trees in our lives and promotes tree planting and care. Nationally, the first Arbor Day in the United States was in 1872. Wisconsin has been celebrating since 1883. Wisconsin’s official Arbor Day is the last Friday in April.
