WATER CONSERVATION COALITION

waterdrop
To increase public awareness of water supply issues, Waukesha County and the City of Waukesha formed a water conservation coalition. On September 26, 2006 the first meeting of the Water Conservation Coalition was held at Retzer Nature Center.  The Coalition has representatives from a number of municipalities as well as organizations from Waukesha and Milwaukee Counties.  Though the issues facing the counties are very different, the conservation message that they both are working to convey is the same.

Mission:  Through regional collaboration, develop and deliver groundwater awareness and demand side conservation awareness messages.

The coalition meets quarterly at Retzer Nature Center.  You may look up agendas or meeting synopses of recent meetings.

The Coalition is forming into three subgroups to address different target audiences for the conservation message.  The residential subgroup has targeted single family homes for their conservation message through the Water Conservation Challenge.  There is a business/commercial subgroup that is in the early stages of working with businesses and multifamily housing units, and an industrial subgroup that is just forming.
