BUSINESS RECYCLING INFORMATION

What Does My Business Have to Recycle by Law in Wisconsin?

officepaper  Paper, bottles, and cans are required to be recycled in Wisconsin and may be collected in carts or dumpsters, depending upon volume.  Paper may be separated for collection from the "commingled" cans, bottles, and containers, or all items may be collected together in one dumpster/cart if going to a "single-stream" facility for separation there.  There are no facilities that will separate your recyclables from the trash. These and other items required for recycling in Wisconsin are listed as links below:

Paper  Bottles & Cans  Fluorescent Tubes/Lighting
Yard/Brush Trimmings Used Motor Oil Batteries
Tires  Old Appliances Computers/Office Equipment

Building owners are required to provide recycling services unless they assign responsibility to tenants in their lease. Some small businesses may be able to take part in a residential recycling program when generating small amounts of recyclables located along regular pick-up routes, so check with your municipal or local recycling office.  Consider partnering with neighboring businesses for trash/recycling services to get a better deal.

Pallets and general Building Materials (construction and remodeling debris) are also recyclable.
