SEASONAL INFLUENZA (FLU) VACCINE - (EVERY ONE --- EVERY YEAR)

Starting September 1st, Waukesha County Public Health Division will have Flu Vaccine available as a Walk-in Service and at scheduled Monthly Immunization Clinics in the Community.

Preventing Seasonal Flu: Get Vaccinated
A flu vaccine is the FIRST and BEST step to prevent getting the flu. The 2011 flu vaccine will protect against the 2009 H1N1 flu virus (swine flu) and 2 other flu viruses. Either type of flu vaccine (the "shot" or the "nasal spray") will keep you and your loved ones safe from a very serious disease.  This year Waukesha County Public Health will be offering High Dose Flu vaccine for seniors. The new recommendation for flu vaccine is:

Flu Shots for Children And adults

Children

  • The CDC recommends that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a flu vaccine every year.  
  • The fee is $7 and can be waived, if necessary. 
  • Bring flu vaccine records to clinic.
  • Parent or guardian must sign Public Health Division forms for children's immunizations. 
  • Please call ahead to be sure the flu vaccine is available. 

 

Adults

  • The CDC recommends that all adults receive a flu vaccine every year. 
  • For seniors, Waukesha County Public Health is now offering High Dose Flu vaccine.
  • For adults, the cost for flu vaccine is $30, and the cost for High Dose flu vaccine is $45. The cost for pneumonia vaccine is $50. 
  • In addition to cash and check, the Public Health Division also accepts Medicaid (Title 19) and Medicare Part B as payment for the flu shot; please bring your card to the clinic. Medicare HMO's are not accepted.   
  • Please call ahead to be sure the flu vaccine is available
