Curbside Recycling in Waukesha County

Waukesha County owns and manages a state-of-the-art, regional recycling facility in partnership with the City of Milwaukee. This environmentally and economically sustainable system allows us to partner with the private sector and meet the requirements of the state recycling law all while coordinating services for our municipal partners to better serve our residents.

Watch what happens with your curbside recyclables once they are collected!

Communities in Waukesha County have a variety of ways collectables are collected including bins that are collected up the drive and carts that must be placed at the curb for collection. Recyclables should never be placed in plastic bags.

Carts collected curbside should be:

  • Placed so the lid opens towards the street
  • 6 feet from trees or cars
  • Does not have overflowing material or extra material on top of the lid

The below postcards are mailed to homes identified as potentially having contamination or bags in their recycling cart.
