National Jury Report Available

  • According to a 2007 study by the Center for Jury Studies of the National Center for State Courts, more than one-third of all Americans are likely to serve as jurors at some point in their life. Wisconsin juries claim the shortest average deliberation time in felony trials - one hour. Connecticut had the longest average deliberation time (7.75 hours.) The study documents jury improvement efforts and the legal infrastructure for jury operations and practices on a statewide basis, and nearly 1,400 state trial courts were surveyed about terms and conditions of jury service. The report is available at  www.ncsc-jurystudies.org/State-of-the-States-Survey.aspx.
