Guardianships & Protective Placements

Guardianships and protective placments are handled in both the Juvenile and Probate Courts.  Circumstances of the action will determine in which court your matter will be heard.

Juvenile Court

Guardianships of MINOR PERSONS are handled in the Juvenile Court and are filed at the reception desk at 521 Riverview Avenue.  A person seeking appointment by a judge to make decisions for a minor child and to become responsible for all life decisions of the child may use the forms and instructions below. 

Probate Court

Guardianships of the ESTATES OF A MINOR PERSONS are handled in the Probate Court and are filed at the reception desk in Room C-380 of the Waukesha County Courthouse at 515 W. Moreland Blvd.

Guardianships of ADULT PERSONS are handled in the Probate Court and are filed at the reception desk in Room C-380 of the Waukesha County Courthouse at 515 W. Moreland Blvd.

Protective Placements of ADULT PERSONS are handled in the Probate Court and are filed at the reception desk in Room C-380 of the Waukesha County Courthouse at 515 W. Moreland Blvd.
